You are NOT a bad mother. You did something stupid, which you won't ever do again. We've all done stupid things. I've left my kids alone in the car while they car was running, had that "Oh shit, what did I do?" feeling and run out to the car to find Annie sitting in the driver's seat. Thank GOD she hadn't pulled it out of park - but she could have. And I thought "God why am I so stupid? Was that thing I needed really worth my children's lives? If anybody knew I had done this they'd take my kids and give them to someone else." It happens. Forgive yourself, Ben and the kids already have. You slacked for a moment. You thought "My kids are so well behaved. I can run inside for a moment and they'll stay in their seats" You were wrong. They're kids. They're stinkers just like all the other ones.
